Conservatory Of Music and Performing

Our non-profit entity, Conservatory Of Music and Performing Arts Society (COMPAS), is a network of artists, art and cultural orgs and businesses dedicated to offering area residents an array of cultural and performing arts experiences that heighten the quality of youth development, adult and senior programming, and that contribute to the revitalization of the City of Trenton. COMPAS is presently the Backbone org (or leading local arts organization) of ARTS FOR ANY GIVEN CHILD TRENTON.

Arts for Any Given Child TRENTON

Arts for Any Given Child TRENTON

In 2015, Trenton became the 19th of 27 sites across the country selected to participate in a prestigious initiative created by the Kennedy Center in D.C. Any Given Child requires that 1) community arts partners, 2) lead city officials, and 3) Trenton public school leadership work together to develop and implement a long-term arts education plan that will ensure that every student from grade K through 8 is given an equitable, quality and continual arts education, hence Arts for AGC Trenton.

Garden State Agrihood Project

Garden State Agrihood Project

The Garden State Agrihood Project enables Trenton youth and families to learn how to plant, pick, prepare and consume healthy produce using the Capital City Farm as its landcape. Additionally, the GSAP redefines the concept "urban farming" on an entire new level by placing equal emphasis on five significant areas of the farm: 1) Agriculture, 2) Land Conservancy and Preservation, 3) Arts and Culture, 4) Civic Engagement and 5) Land Acquisition. Undesign The Redline Exhibit

Undesign The Redline Exhibit

UTR's WElab is a framework for unearthing our most deep, systemic and entangled crises. This interactive exhibit, workshop series and curriculum explores the history of structural racism and classism, how these designs compounded each other from 1938 Redlining maps until today, and how WE can come together to undesign these systems with intentionality.

Thomas Grice Academy of Music

Thomas Grice Academy of Music

The Thomas Grice Academy of Music is steeped heavily in Jazz influenced, improvisational one-to-one and group instruction. TGAM, named after the late, great alto saxophonist Thomas A Grice, provides a cohesive music program, giving students occasional opportunities to perform their skills at public affairs. The Academy's lead, teach, learn and perform model efficiently prepares urban youth for the music industry to lead productive lives with help from experienced professional musician mentors.
